Pitha can be sweet or savoury, and usually made from a dough or batter. Idli has several variations, including rava idli, which is made from semolina. Regional variants include sanna of Konkan and Enduri Pitha of Odisha.

Gur ka Idli (Pitha) is one of the most popular of recent trending foods in the world. It is enjoyed by millions every day. It is easy, it is fast, it tastes yummy. Gur ka Idli (Pitha) is something that I have loved my whole life. They’re nice and they look wonderful.

The ingredients needed to make Gur ka Idli (Pitha):
  1. Prepare 2 cups Fermented batter by taking Rice and Urad dal in 2:1 ratio
  2. Get 2 tbsp fresh grated Coconut or Powder
  3. Get 1 tbsp milk powder
  4. Prepare 2 tbsp date Palm Jaggery or similar available in market
  5. Get 1/2 tsp Cardamon powder (optional)
  6. Take 1 tbsp chopped nuts like Cashew, Almond, Kismis
  7. Prepare 4-5 Khajoor chopped
  8. Prepare 2 tsp ghee

The chilled Gur ka Sherbat is one of the drinks that you can enjoy anytime without really worrying about the repercussions. Though there is not much difference between this pitha batter and idli batter but the use of Haldi Patra(Turmeric leaves) makes this pitha aromatic and imparts a flavor to it.

Steps to make Gur ka Idli (Pitha):
  1. To prepare the batter soak 2 cups of Rice and 1 cup of Urad dal in lukewarm water for 2 hours. Grind with salt you like and half tsp sugar and 2 tsp of sour curd. Ferment by keeping the batter covered under sunlight in winter.
  2. If you want to make instant Pithas then you can use Eno (according to the need of batter and cook immediately to get soft Idli.)
  3. Mix rest of the ingredients with the fermented batter.
  4. Grease the holes of Idli maker and pour the mixer batter. Cover with lid and steam for 7 to 9 minutes. Check with a toothprick to know if it is done.
  5. Switch off the flame and let it cool down for 5 minutes.
  6. Yummy yummy sweet idlis are ready to serve with Kheer or Rabri or can be eaten as such.

Enduri Pitha is one of my all-time favorite pitha. Though there is not much difference between this pitha batter and idli batter but the use of Haldi Patra(Turmeric leaves) makes this pitha aromatic and imparts a flavor to it.
